Teaching Philosophy
I began my private violin studio in 2019. My focus is to help students at every level establish a strong technical foundation so they can get better results in their playing. I especially emphasize on a beautiful tone, playing in tune, and creating a musical performance.
My technique, playing style, and teaching philosophy is strongly influenced by Leopold Auer, Jascha Heifetz, and their students. This background has played a large role in shaping my artistic approach to violin playing and inspired my undergraduate research The History and Legacy of the “Russian” Violin Bow Hold at the University of Utah and my artistic research Implementing the Performance Style of Jascha Heifetz in Erich Korngold’s Violin Concerto during my master’s studies.
My background is primarily in classical music, with some experience in Argentine tango. I also draw inspiration from other pedagogical methods and musical styles, and I love exploring new music with my students.
Ultimately my goal as a teacher is to create an environment where my students can get real results with their playing, and feel they can play at the level they want to.
